Rita Lamb, a seasoned politician, brings over four decades of experience in public service to her role as the Cathedral City Mayor (2023).

Prior to her mayoral role, Rita served as a City Council member for ten years, where she earned a reputation for her collaborative approach and commitment to improving the lives of Cathedral City residents. Throughout her tenure, Rita has worked tirelessly to address key issues facing the city, such as affordable housing, public safety, and infrastructure.

Rita retired as an elementary school Principal with DSUSD and CVUSD and was recognized as “Principal of the Year.” Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rita is known for her dedication to community service and philanthropy. She actively supports local organizations and charities, including the Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club, the Cathedral City Senior Center, the Cathedral City High School Band and Cathedral City High School Chamber Singers. In these and many other ways, Rita demonstrates her unwavering commitment to making Cathedral City a better place for all its residents.
