My Platform - Building Community

Building community is a powerful force that fosters connection, support, and resilience among us. Communities offer a sense of belonging, a platform for shared experiences, and a source of strength in times of need.

By investing in community-building efforts, we can create environments where individuals thrive, relationships deepen, and collective well-being is prioritized. The power of building community lies in its ability to unite diverse perspectives, amplify voices, and cultivate a sense of shared purpose. Through collaboration, communication, and cooperation, we can harness the strength of community to address challenges, celebrate successes, and create a more inclusive society for all.

Public Safety is of utmost importance in our community. Under my leadership as mayor, (2023), Cathedral City enjoys a safe environment for everyone to live, work, and thrive. I initiated various measures and strategies aimed at protecting our citizens from harm, including:

  • Emergency Preparedness Events with Cathedral City Fire Department

  • Community Safety Discussions with Cathedral City Police Department

    I also supported:

  • The Cathedral City Police Motorcycle Patrol to enhance public safety, and

  • A Local Assistance Center at Cathedral City Library to support families and businesses impacted by Tropical Storm Hillary.

Maintaining public safety requires the cooperation of law enforcement agencies, emergency services, government entities, and you.

Cathedral City celebrates the richness of diversity within its community, embracing individuals of all backgrounds and cultures.

This pride in diversity is reflected in the city's vibrant neighborhoods, welcoming atmosphere, and inclusive events, including:

  • Taste of Jalisco

  • Hot Air Balloon Festival

  • Pride Week

  • Taste & Sounds of Cathedral City

From local businesses to community organizations, I value the unique perspectives and contributions of every resident, fostering a sense of unity and respect among our diverse population.

Recent infrastructure upgrades include:

  • The launch of “Cathedral Cove Retail District.”

  • Refinements to Date Palm Drive

  • Cathedral Canyon Street Widening

  • Planning for The Downtown Dog Park and Pickleball Courts

  • Creation of Esperanza Park in the
    ”Dream Homes” neighborhood.

  • The Ofelia Bringas Bridge
    celebrating the contributions of Ofelia Bringas, and her role in the creation of the Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club. Whether you're crossing the bridge on your daily commute or simply taking a leisurely stroll, the Ofelia Bringas Bridge stands as a testament to the endless possibilities of architectural ingenuity.
